UPDATE: Rain and hail have delayed our start of the Southwest Showdown, so we were unable to run Thursday’s $20,000 Shootout. Racing will start Friday morning!
Last year I showed up in Tucson for the Southwest Showdown and I was greated by SNOW. Yeah, SNOW on the ground at the airport, so you can imagine how surprised I was to actually see race cars and the dragstrip covered in the stuff! This year we’re not expecting snow, but it will start off cooler and get warmer as we work through the weekend’s racing action. Thursday’s racing action starts off with the $20,000 WCBR Shootout this afternoon, and then we continue on with full days of racing on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It’s a big money weekend, and someone is going to go home with all of it.
We’re coming to you live from Tucson Dragway for the 2024 West Coast Bracket Races Southwest Showdown and we’re kicking off an entire weekend of racing with the $20,000 Thursday shootout featuring just 64 cars! These guys and gals are going to battle it out for real money to start out the weekend and we can’t wait for all the action. We’ll be going live around 2:30 pm in Arizona for this first race of the weekend.
Make sure you join us Friday, Saturday and Sunday starting around 10 am as well!
