“I don’t want to hide from them anymore…” RLJE Films has revealed an official trailer for an indie sci-fi thriller titled Arcadian, arriving in theaters in April to watch. This is first premiering at the 2024 SXSW Film Festival this weekend. The post-apocalyptic survival thrillers has creatures that come at night, kind of like A Quiet Place. In a near future, normal life on Earth has been decimated. Paul and his two sons, Thomas & Joseph, have been living a half-life – tranquility by day and torment by night. One day, Thomas doesn’t return home on time from a visit to the nearby farm girl. Paul chooses to leave the safety of their fortified farm, risking his life to find Thomas. Just as he finds his boy, a nightmarish battle ensues. The film stars Nicolas Cage, Jaeden Martell, Maxwell Jenkins, and Sadie Soverall. The title Arcadian refers to the life they’re living: “rural, rustic, or pastoral, especially suggesting simple, innocent contentment.” It looks similar to many other creature features, but hoping it’s good anyway.
