Nissan is gearing up to host an ‘unboxing’ tomorrow where they’ll introduce a new crossover. While the automaker is playing coy on specifics, there’s little doubt the company will unveil the redesigned Kicks.
There isn’t much to see in the teaser video, but Nissan promised a “surprise unveiling” of something that is “bigger, bolder, and better than ever.” That’s vague, but the video shows the model will have segmented lighting units and a wide, razor-like grille.
We can also get a glimpse of seats or trim as well as the vehicle’s overall shape. The latter image is particularly revealing as it shows the crossover will have flowing curves and a pronounced shoulder line.
Put all the pieces together and it’s pretty clear the company will introduce the 2025 Kicks. We’ll find out for sure soon enough, but spy photographers caught the crossover last summer and a number of details match up with the teaser video.
Besides the aforementioned items, the model has a matured design that incorporates traditional crossover styling cues. They’re joined by a rakish windscreen that flows into a sloping roof.

We’ll learn full details shortly, but the outgoing model starts at $21,050 and has a 1.6-liter four-cylinder producing 122 hp (91 kW / 124 PS) and 114 lb-ft (154 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to an Xtronic continuously variable transmission, which sends power exclusively to the front wheels.
While the Kicks is one of the cheapest crossovers in America, the current model is showing its age and pales in comparison to newer rivals. The Chevrolet Trax, in particular, has become the segment hottie thanks to its generous dimensions and $20,400 sticker. However, it’s not the only mover and shaker as the Buick Envista combines crossover coupe styling with a relatively upscale interior for $22,400.
