Maxey’s near triple-double performance was a standout, just a rebound short, alongside his 11 assists and nine boards. Kelly Oubre Jr. also made significant contributions with 18 points, helping the 76ers inch closer to overtaking Miami in the standings.
“Every game matters,” Maxey said. “Every game is a playoff game at this point. Honestly, we’re like in a March Madness situation. You know, every game is not an elimination game, but every game is important.”
The Heat, led by Terry Rozier with 22 points and Jimmy Butler with 20, struggled to maintain their lead despite a strong showing, eventually succumbing to Philadelphia’s late surge. The game also marked Embiid’s return to form after a two-month absence, adding another layer of intensity to the encounter.
“There’s no time for emotion right now,” Adebayo said. “We’ve got a game tomorrow, so on to the next, focus on that.”
