A24 has revealed an official trailer for an indie drama titled Janet Planet, marking the feature directorial debut of playwright Annie Baker. This first premiered at the 2023 Telluride Film Festival last year, playing at the New York Film Festival (NYFF) and this year’s Berlin Film Festival a few months ago. In her debut feature film, the Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Annie Baker captures a child’s experience of time passing and the ineffability of a daughter falling out of love with her mother as she spends more time with her. The story follows 11-year-old Lacy, who spends the summer of 1991 at home, enthralled by her own imagination and the attention of her mother, Janet.
