Turkiye March 2024: Record market but year-on-year growth slows

Renault sales are up 60% year-on-year in March.

Surprise, surprise, the March 2024 volume is a new record for the month but it slows down its year-on-year growth rate at +5.7% to 109,828. The previous March record was established just last year at 103,929. Q1 volumes are up 25.2% to 295,519. Once again Fiat (-28.4%) struggles but stays atop the brands charts with 13.4% share. Renault (+60%) again over performs year-on-year to hit 12% share. Ford (-25.9%) and Peugeot (-22.9%) also disappoint whereas Citroen (+26.9%) shines. Chery (+855.6%) celebrates one year in market at #6 with a strong 5.5% share. Only Toyota (+7.5%) beats the market in the remainder of the Top 10, with Volkswagen (-30.7%) diving and Hyundai (+3.1%) and Opel (+2.3%) soft. MG (+467.2%) is up to a record #13.

Model-wise, the Fiat Egea Sedan reclaims the top spot ahead of the Renault Clio which advances to #2 year-to-date. The Renault Megane Sedan is up one rank on last month to #3 as is the Fiat Egea Cross at #4. Reversely the Toyota Corolla Sedan is down two to #5. Outstanding score by the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro up 14 spots on February to #6. The Dacia Duster (+9) is also back to its traditional level at #7. Once again the Citroen C4 X impresses at #8, Turkiye being the only market where it is successful. The MG HS advances to a stellar 11th place while the MG ZS breaks into the Top 40 for the first time at #35.
