“We got these powers for a reason… Let’s use them!” Paramount Pictures has revealed an official trailer for the next Transformers movie, this one an all-CGI animated creation called Transformers One. Anyone up for an origin story after all the live-action movies? Transformers One is based on the Transformers toyline by Hasbro and is the 8th installment in the Transformers movies series. This “prequel” is set on the planet Cybertron and will center on the relationship between the bots Optimus Prime and Megatron, and how they became sworn enemies. Directed by Josh Cooley (from Pixar’s Toy Story 4), the ensemble voice cast includes Chris Hemsworth as Optimus Prime, Brian Tyree Henry as Megatron, Scarlett Johansson as Elita, Keegan-Michael Key as Bumblebee, Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime, Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion, plus Steve Buscemi. This is some wacky, flashy, amusing footage but it really seems like this is made for kids and not really the adults that enjoyed the previous Transformers movies.
