Roberto Baggio recently joined Instagram and celebrated in the most interesting way possible: uploading an image of him as magical as his kicks.
Last Sunday, the former Ballon d’Or winner shared a picture of him looking like a Columbian drug lord. He even said so himself, writing “Prossimamente… @narcos 4” or “Coming soon…Narcos 4.”
Fans, understandably, took the 57-year-old’s latest stature as a surprise, non-surprise. The footballer appears to have gained much weight, with hair protruding in curls like the great Colombian goalkeeper Rene Higuita. Or dare we say, Ron Jeremy?
The Italian media has claimed the Italian legend has grown fat for years since his retirement. After all, the playmaker once said, “The Azzurri jersey always had a special weight for me, it was like playing carrying a house on my back.” But that wasn’t to be taken literally.
It’s safe to say that was always an exaggeration and more of a critique of his on-field play: Baggio missed one of the biggest penalty kicks in World Cup history. He also led the Italians to that final.

It turns out Baggio’s daughter runs his Instagram account, and the two, dad and daughter, just want to make people laugh. Fair enough, the full-figured Baggio got us!
It’s fair to say that without Baggio took the number 10 to the next level with attacking flair and style. He played team ball. One of the best Italian footballers of all time? He’s certainly up there as Totti and Del Piero’s predecessor.
