Just a few days ago, pictures of the new Maruti Suzuki Swift fourth generation from a Maruti dealership were shared online. Now, prior to its official launch on May 9, pictures of the base-spec variant of the new Swift have surfaced on the internet. From these pictures, the one striking detail that we can note is that even the base variants will come with projector headlights with LED DRLs and LED taillights.
These pictures and details of the new 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift base LXI variant have come courtesy of Harsh Vlogs from YouTube. It starts with the presenter showing the front end of the base LXI variant of the Swift fourth generation model. It can be noted that the front will get the exact same headlights as the top-spec variant.
Front end changes
However, according to the presenter, it could be possible that the company does not offer LED lights for the projector headlamps. Instead, it could offer halogen lights for the projectors. What also has not been confirmed is if the LED DRLs will turn on or not.
We can note that the headlights do get the L-shaped LED DRLs. But the company could or could not disconnect it to differentiate between the base and top-spec trims. Apart from this, we can note that the LED fog lights have been removed and instead, it gets black covers. The rest of the front end looks very similar to the higher-spec model.
Side profile changes
Coming to the side profile of the base LXI Swift, it can be observed that it will be missing out on black A and B pillars. There will be the same black element on the C-pillar, but the rear portion of the door frame will be finished in body color. Apart from this, the car will also come with black door handles and ORVMs.
Speaking of the ORVMs, it is believed the company will be offering manually opening ORVMs. However, they could get electric operation for adjustment. The side profile will also get 16-inch steel rims. These rims will come with a four-bolt pattern. Apart from this, the rest of the car appears to be the same.
Rear end changes
Moving on to the rear end, there are a few features that the Swift LXI variant will be missing out on. It will not be getting a rear wiper, washer, and defogger. It will also not be coming with a rearview camera and parking sensors. What it will get though are the same clear C-Shaped LED taillights.
Interior
Sadly, no pictures of the interior of the new Swift’s base trim have been shared. However, the presenter states that the company could offer the base trim with a very small screen. Now whether this will be the case or not, we’ll have to wait and watch.
Apart from this, speculations are that the company could offer the base variant with an automatic climate control system as the Baleno base variant. However, this has also not been confirmed. The presenter also mentions that it has been reported that the base trim will also come with all four power windows.
2024 Swift LXI engine
In terms of the engine specifications, it will most likely get the same 1.2-liter naturally aspirated Z-Series 3-cylinder petrol engine. According to reports, this new engine will sacrifice 8.2 PS of power and 1 Nm of torque. However, it will be gaining an impressive 3.34 kmpl in ARAI-certified mileage, bringing the total up to 25.72 kmpl.
