Poland April 2024: Toyota (+39.6%), Mercedes (+67.5%), Volvo (+81.9%) highlight robust market

The Toyota Corolla remains the most popular vehicle in Poland.

After slowing down in March (+1.2%), the Polish new car market returns to vigorous growth in April at +25% year-on-year to 43,224 sales. This way, the year-to-date tally is up 15.7% to 179,488. Toyota (+39.6%) vastly outraces the market to 18.5% share with over 8,000 sales with Skoda (+24.3%) also in great shape at #2 with 12.3% of sales vs. 11.2% so far this year. Volvo (+81.9%) is the biggest gainer in the Top 15, followed by Mercedes (+67.5%) and Renault (+42.9%). Ford (+28.1%) is the only remaining Top 15 brand to beat the market, while Kia (-18.5%) and Audi (-10.9%) underperform.

Model-wise, no surprise on top: the Toyota Corolla (+26.5%) distances the Skoda Octavia (+57.4%) as it does year-to-date and it did over the Full Year 2023. Toyota monopolises the rest of the Top 5 with the Yaris (+112.1%), RAV4 (+148%) both with outstanding gains, and C-HR (+24.6%). The VW Tiguan (+103.4%) and Volvo XC60 (+66.7%) also impress in the remainder of the Top 10. Other great lifts are delivered by the Mazda CX-5 (+372.3%), Mercedes GLC (+123.7%), Ford Focus (+109.4%), Renault Captur (+86%) and Dacia Sandero (+84.5%).
