Anyone who ever street raced back in the day knows that there is always a risk of getting caught and getting into some real trouble. In recent years though there have been so many street racing events that are legal, that people sometimes forget what can really happen. I could be wrong, but renting a road and being allowed to race is NOT the same as going out and finding a road and putting on a race. When I was growing up we had several spots that were weekly or monthly race spots, and we raced them all the time. But we also got chased off by the cops a lot. And sometimes folks got popped by the cops. We all knew the risks and it was part of the allure of it all.
But back then there wasn’t anyone there to know about it except the racers you were with who you knew. Now, everyone knows because of phones and social media. Or 1320Video as the case may be. LOL

Surprisingly, we don’t see street racers get arrested and taken to jail very often. Especially at Cash Days. Between good security, secluded spots, and local knowledge – racers do a fairly good job at avoiding handcuffs. But when you’re in Texas in the middle of March on a weekend that is notorious for street racing.. you may not be so lucky.
