Buying a luxury car is a dream for many people. Many achieve this dream without realizing the cost that comes with it. Here we have an example of a Rolls Royce Phantom which is actually put up for sale. The asking price for this luxury saloon is Rs 58 lakh, and the previous owner had spent a whopping Rs 65 lakh just on the last service.
Before you get too excited, let us tell you that the car is not for sale in India. The Rolls Royce Phantom is actually for sale at a car dealership in Los Angeles, California. This is a 2006 model Rolls Royce Phantom luxury sedan, and the only reason why it is attracting so much attention is the price.
The car has been listed on Beverly Hills Car Club. This 20-year-old luxury sedan was and still is the flagship model from the British car manufacturer. Many rich and billionaire celebrities and businessmen around the world own this expensive car. The car seen here in the images has done 1,40,000 km on the odometer.
The car is listed at a price of $69,950, which is approximately Rs 58.34 lakh. We have not seen a Rolls Royce go for this cheap in India. Most of the Rolls Royce Phantom and Ghost sedans that are for sale cost at least a crore.
In this case, there is a reason why the car is being sold at such a low price. The previous owner of the car had spent a whopping $78,913, or approximately Rs 65.82 lakh, just on servicing this car.
The exact reason why the owner spent such a huge amount on just servicing a vehicle which he intended to sell anyway is not known. It is not mentioned if the car was facing any issues or if the car was involved in a crash and cost this much to get it repaired. The post mentions that the car comes with copies of receipts for the Rs 65 lakh that has been invested into this vehicle.
There is a trend among some people abroad who like to pick up scrapped or damaged vehicles at auction, repair them, and sell them. In most cases, the person selling the car makes money; however, there are cases where they lose money too. We feel something like that happened in this case.
If you have been paying attention since the start, you would know that the car is being sold at a price less than what was actually spent on it. The seller is actually losing around Rs 7.5 lakh by selling this expensive luxury saloon.
The Rolls Royce Phantom seen here is powered by a 6.8-litre V12 engine and is mated to an automatic transmission. The car is finished in silver, and the interior gets a Magnolia interior. The car has an array of premium features which enhance the overall experience. This is probably the cheapest Rolls Royce Phantom sedan that is for sale around the world.
