The famous Jaguar E-Type-based Low Drag GT built by E-Type specialist Eagle has hit the auction block and is being sold in the U.S. In the world of recommissioned Jaguars, few are as recognizable as this one.
Jeremy Clarkson drove this very Eagle Low Drag GT in a 2015 episode of Top Gear and has been featured in several magazines. It was conceived as a modern interpretation of the original low-drag coupe built by Jaguar in 1961 and construction of this car started in around 2010. Just six Low Drag GTs have been built by Eagle.

Distinguishing the Eagle Low Drag GT from all other E-Types is the hand-formed aluminum body finished in a bespoke Mercury paint that makes it look like it has polished aluminum parts. The E-Type is widely considered one of the most beautiful cars ever conceived but Eagle’s creation arguably looks even sexier. It rolls on 16-inch wheels with Vredestein Ultrac Giugiaro Design tires and is equipped with AP Racing disc brakes with cross-drilled and ventilated front discs and dual master cylinders. It also features Ohlins adjustable dampers.
Powering the rolling piece of art is a 4.7-liter 6-cylinder engine with an aluminum block, forged pistons, a billet crankshaft, competition camshafts, Cosworth valve springs, an oil sump with gaited baffles, and a harmonic crankshaft damper. It also has independent throttle bodies, a carbon fiber intake manifold, a Pectel ECU, and stainless steel headers. Coupled with the inline-six is a five-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential.
A look inside the cabin reveals dark blue leather with adjustable bucket seats. The Eagle Low Drag GT also includes blue-tinted visors, a gray Alcantara headliner, and updated air conditioning and sound systems.
