A thief managed to flee from police after breaking into a car dealership in Manheim, Pennsylvania, last week and taking a white Chevrolet Camaro.
WGAL has shared three short clips of the thief online. In the first section of the video, an individual wearing a black hoodie can be seen smashing the passenger side window of a C7 Chevrolet Corvette. Doing so sets off the car’s alarm but that doesn’t stop the thief as they slide into the cabin.

The camera then cuts to another clip. This clip shows the white Chevrolet Camaro Convertible, which had been in the foreground and parked next to the Corvette, now on the street. The thief is then seen trying to drive the grey Vette through a white fence and over a hedge to the road but gets stuck. Moments later, police arrive, and the man wearing the hoodie leaps into the Camaro and speeds off.
WGAL reports police pursued the suspect along Lancaster Road in Penn Township at approximately 1:30 a.m. However, the chase was quickly ended for public safety. Local authorities, including the Pennsylvania State Police, searched for the suspect but were unable to find them.
Police say the hooded man who fled the scene had entered the Manheim Auto Auction property and other surrounding businesses, looking to steal cars.
While dealerships typically have security cameras, that’s not always enough to stop thieves. In April, a dealership in Arab, Alabama, was hit by a group of thieves who stole eight cars and trucks, including a Ram 1500 TRX, a Ford Bronco Raptor, and a Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170. Those thieves appear to have been more organized than the suspect in Pennsylvania as they also stole 300 car keys and hours of security camera footage.
