As such, we’ve seen the Boston brand release countless special editions since Murray broke into the league, many of which boast design themes drawn from the Denver Nuggets star’s team, hobbies, and now, nicknames.
The latest Jamal Murray x New Balance TWO WXY V4 is best defined by the moniker “Red Arrow” due to the gold, arrow-clad “J11” logo that appears on the heel. It’s a play on Murray’s “Blue Arrow” nickname, which was bestowed upon him in college. For context; Jamal Murray used to do a bow-and-arrow celebration after hitting threes for the Kentucky Wildcats, whose uniform color is blue.
New Balance released a more fitting “Blue Arrow” Jamal Murray TWO WXY V4 colorway with an all-blue upper and midsole last month, but this “Red Arrow” pair doesn’t ode to Kentucky blue at all, as its namesake might suggest. While the “Blue Arrow” pair also featured splattered white paint on the upper, the “Red Arrow” version abides by a classier look with uninterrupted mesh.
The Jamal Murray New Balance TWO WXY V4 “Red Arrow” has populated on newbalance.com with a release date set for June 17th. The shoes will be available in unisex sizing and retail for $120 a pop.
