The Jeep Avenger has proven to be a sales hit for the American brand in Europe, with the baby SUV already surpassing 100,000 orders by mid-2024. This milestone was achieved despite the gradual introduction of various powertrain options and ongoing expansion of the lineup.
The Avenger had reached 40,000 orders in September 2023, meaning that Jeep sold over 60,000 units in a single year. For comparison, annual sales of the slightly bigger and much older Jeep Renegade in the Old Continent range between 49,287 and 78,842 units depending on the year.

The Avenger was launched in late 2022, as Jeep’s first fully electric model, based on Stellantis underpinnings. The manual-only ICE-powered version with a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine was initially launched in limited quantities for select European markets, before becoming widely available later in 2023.
A mild-hybrid version (e-Hybrid) with a 48 Volt system and the same turbo 1.2-liter engine was added to the range in late 2023, adding an automatic option to the mix. Finally, the flagship and rugged-looking Jeep Avenger 4Xe will be available to order by the fourth quarter of 2024. This will use a stronger dual-electric-motor mild-hybrid setup, becoming the only AWD trim of the subcompact SUV.

In terms of power outputs, the ICE-only Avenger is good for 99 hp (74 kW / 100 PS), the e-Hybrid adds a 28 hp (21 kW / 28 PS) electric motor, while the fully electric models produces 154 hp (115 kW / 156 PS). On the other hand, the Avenger 4Xe combines a more potent 134 hp (100 kW / 136 PS) engine with dual electric motors, each one producing 28 hp (21 kW / 29 PS), and giving it AWD capabilities.
Jeep has not disclosed the sales breakdown for the Avenger across its different powertrain options. However, it can be inferred that the combustion engine versions are likely popular, given the brand’s decision to expand their availability into more markets.
It will be interesting to see how the introduction of the mild-hybrid versions impacts the overall sales performance of the Avenger in the future. We also anticipate comparing the sales figures of the baby Jeep with its closely-related counterparts, the Alfa Romeo Junior and Fiat 600 models. The top-selling Stellantis subcompact SUV in Europe is currently the Peugeot 2008, which reached a peak of 191,424 units in 2021.
