We thoroughly enjoyed our time with the latest Suzuki Jimny when we gave it a spin it a few years back, and it’s a real shame it’s not available everywhere. Beyond its impressive off-road chops, this tiny SUV has another trick up its sleeves; it’s like a chameleon when it comes to changing its looks. It’s been transformed into a pint-sized Mercedes G-Class, a Land Rover Defender, and even a mini-classic Ford Bronco.
Now, it’s donning the attire of a modern baby Ford Bronco with the Jimny Bron55 kit from the tuners at Garage-ill that’s only available in Japan. It’s so darn convincing that it makes you wonder why Ford didn’t consider something like this for production.
Thanks to the Suzuki Jimny’s simple lines and robust design, capturing the essence of the new Ford Bronco primarily involves a front-end makeover. The Jimny Bron55 kit includes a distinctive grille proudly bearing the “BRON55” emblem, which from a distance could easily be mistaken for “BRONCO.” It also comes with a new set of round headlights featuring horizontal LED strips and a rugged bumper that exudes off-road toughness. It’s like viewing miniaturized versions of the actual Bronco components.

The kit is compatible with both the narrow-body Jimny and the Jimny Sierra, though it undeniably appears more appealing when paired with the plastic fender extensions found on the latter, giving off Ford Bronco Badlands vibes. Interestingly, the same visual modifications can be applied to the five-door Jimny, providing the option to have the baby Bronco look with either body style, mirroring the versatility of the original.
Just like any Jimny build, owners have the freedom to further enhance their Bronco-styled model with aftermarket wheels wrapped in more aggressive tires and a suspension lift kit, elevating its off-road capabilities. For those looking to embrace the Ford theme wholeheartedly, slapping on some Ecoboost decals on the tailgate is an option. However, it might come across as a tad excessive, especially considering that the naturally-aspirated 1.5-liter Suzuki engine remains under the hood.
According to Garage-ill that sells the Bron55 package, customers can choose to purchase the entire kit or individual parts separately. In Japan, prices start at ¥159,500 ($1,070) for the grille and halogen headlights. If you opt for the full package, which includes the grille, LED headlights, and bumper, the price goes up to ¥245,000 ($1,644).
