One NBA writer is proposing that the Philadelphia 76ers acquire OG Anunoby from the Toronto Raptors in a blockbuster deal. Eddie Bitar of Fadeaway World proposed the following trade idea between the Sixers and Raptors:

“Anunoby’s age and potential align with the 76ers’ goals of building for the long term,” Bitar wrote in his latest NBA trade column. “The player averaged 1.9 steals per game last year to lead the NBA in that category and also made his first All-Defensive Team selection. Along with being an elite defender, OG shot 38.7% from deep last season and that will work whenever Embiid is dealing with constant double-teams in the paint.”

Harden has requested a trade from the Sixers and wants to get traded to the Los Angeles Clippers. However, since Harden doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract, he can’t control his trade request.
Anunoby averaged 16.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists last season for the Raptors while shooting 47.6% from the field, 38.7% from beyond the arc and 83.8% from the free-throw line. Toronto drafted Anunoby with the 23rd overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
Anunoby signed a four-year, $72 million rookie contract extension in December 2020. He is currently eligible to sign a four-year, $116 million extension with the Raptors. Anunoby has career NBA averages of 11.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists. He won the 2019 championship with the Raptors over the Golden State Warriors in six games.

The Raptors tried to trade for Damian Lillard, but the Portland Trail Blazers sent the superstar point guard to the Milwaukee Bucks. It will be interesting to see if Toronto tries to acquire Harden from Philadelphia and is open to parting ways with Anunoby.
