Facelifted Hyundai Alcazar Three-Row SUV Breaks Cover In India

  • The Hyundai Alcazar received a mid-lifecycle update in India.
  • The new look is similar to the recently-facelifted Hyundai Creta.
  • The three-row SUV is available with gasoline and diesel powertrains.

Hyundai has revealed the facelifted version of the Alcazar in India, sporting a heavily redesigned exterior that gives it a boxier stance.

The Alcazar was originally introduced in 2021, looking like a stretched version of the Creta with added practicality thanks to the three-row seating layout. Three years later, the SUV goes under the knife for its mid-lifecycle update, which is heavily inspired by the recently facelifted Creta.

The new face of the Alcazar features split headlights, with the H pattern incorporated in the LED graphics. The front bumper is covered by a wider grille, with a generously-sized skid plate surrounding the lower cooling intake.

The sculpted profile looks familiar, although there is a new set of 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and modern-styled roof rails. At the back, the fresh LED taillights are connected, creating another H-shaped design feature. The rear bumper is dominated by an aluminum-style trim piece and fake vents, with the pictured model featuring dual tailpipes and a turbo badge.

Hyundai didn’t reveal photos of the interior, but it is safe to assume that the Alcazar will gain a Creta-sourced digital cockpit with dual 10.25-inch displays, alongside more technology, comfort, and safety features. The SUV will remain available in six- and seven-seater configurations, arranged in three rows.

The powertrain lineup of the Alcazar will be carried over from its predecessor, including non-electrified gasoline and diesel options. These include a turbocharged 1.5-liter T-GDi gasoline powertrain with 158 hp (118 kW / 160 PS) and a 1.5-liter CRDi diesel with 113 hp (85 kW / 115 PS).

Besides the standard six speed manual gearbox, the gasoline version is also available with a seven speed dual clutch automatic, while the diesel offers a six-speed torque converter automatic option. In all cases, power is transmitted to the front wheels.

Hyundai has started accepting pre-orders for the facelifted Alcazar in India, ahead of its market launch on September 9.

Since the debut of the Santa Fe in 2023, Hyundai has been giving its SUVs a boxier stance. The Alcazar is the third India-bound model that adopts this trend, following the smaller Exter and the mechanically-related Creta. A similar treatment is expected to be applied in the upcoming 2026 Hyundai Palisade flagship for the US market.
