When asked what advice he would offer to young players, the Knicks’ star provided some valuable insights.
Winning is crucial for young players looking to secure a spot on an NBA roster, especially if they play a significant role in helping their team achieve victory.
While individual players can have standout performances on losing teams, those who adopt a winning mindset from the start often see positive results in their careers.
In the video, Jalen Brunson was also studying clips of Kobe Bryant, who is renowned as one of the most mentally resilient players in NBA history, known for his “Mamba mentality.”
Throughout his career, Bryant’s primary focus was on winning.
He carried the belief that he was the best player on the court in any matchup, which allowed him to play with confidence and reach his full potential.
Many players have since attempted to adopt this mindset, and while some have come close, replicating Bryant’s mentality is a daunting task.
He was a one-of-a-kind player, destined to be remembered as one of the greatest of all time.
It will be interesting to see what kind of season Brunson ends up having with the New York Knicks this year. He’s certainly working his way up the list of current NBA superstars.
