- This year, the anime Macross 7 celebrates its 30th anniversary. On September 15, Basara Nekki, the anime’s protagonist and vocalist of the in-series rock band FIRE BOMBER, kicked off a live tour across Yokohama, Osaka, Aichi, and Tokyo titled “SANKYO presents MACROSS 7 30th Anniv. BASARA EXPLOSION 2024 from FIRE BOMBER.” Following the first performance at KT Zepp Yokohama, a deculture announcement was made!
- It has been confirmed that FIRE BOMBER will host a live show titled “SANKYO presents MACROSS 7 30th Anniv. FIRE BOMBER LIVE 2025 〜BURN! BURN! BURN!〜” on February 21 and 22, 2025, at Toyosu PIT in Tokyo. The performers will, of course, be Yoshiki Fukuyama and Chie Kajiura.
- This performance marks FIRE BOMBER’s return to the stage after six years since “MACROSS CROSSOVER LIVE 2019 at Makuhari Messe,” and their first solo live performance in 13 years since “FIRE BOMBER 2012.”

I’m overwhelmed that FIRE BOMBER is releasing a new song again. Over the past 30 years, I’ve sung many FIRE BOMBER songs in various places, but I took on this challenge with the mindset of creating another signature track.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to perform shows where the audience couldn’t sing along, but FIRE BOMBER just isn’t the same if we’re not all singing together. Basara’s catchphrase is “Listen to my song!” but I think he’s happiest when people are singing along with him. I’m most looking forward to singing this new song with everyone at the February concert.

Congratulations on the 30th anniversary of Macross 7! I never imagined we would be releasing a new song at such a historic milestone. I’m deeply grateful to all the fans who have supported us for so long.
Now, what kind of song to perform for the 30th anniversary? What is Mylene thinking? We had many new ideas, but only one new song… After much deliberation, I sang a love song, imagining how she has grown.
And then, the live show♪ Thanks to a fair and heartfelt offer from FlyingDog’s Mr. Sasaki, I happily agreed to perform. (I’m hoping for additional shows in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka!) As you all know, I’ve always stayed true to my belief in delivering music in my own way, though I understand this approach may invite mixed opinions. But, believe it or not, even I feel like sticking closely to the original songs for this 30th anniversary. Can you believe that?? See you in February!
