DeMarcus Cousins has a clear response to Stephen Curry potentially leaving the Golden State Warriors.
The Golden State Warriors have been mediocre this season, there is no other way to put it.
It’s shocking considering the fact that the Warriors were 12-3 in the first 15 games of the season. But since then, things have spiraled down for the organization.
So much so that many are contemplating if their franchise superstar Stephen Curry could consider leaving the franchise after this season.

Former NBA player DeMarcus Cousins spent one season with the Warriors in hopes of winning the first title of his career. During that short stint, Cousins experienced the joy of sharing the court with Steph.
Anyway, Cousins recently shared his opinion on whether Curry should abandon the Dubs to win another ring before retiring.
“Stop stop. It’s tough.”
If Steph goes and wins another one it puts him in a whole other atmosphere as far as greatness, but then you also think about it from the standpoint of legacy and being in one franchise, how many guys can do that, and the legend he’ll leave behind if he stays with one franchise.”
A couple of decades ago, NBA players took pride in spending their careers with a single franchise. However, that pride has faded in the modern era.
Only a handful of players are still with the team that drafted them and Curry is among them.
Cousins doesn’t think it will be a ‘Miami type’ situation
Jimmy Butler’s recent fallout with the Miami Heat has made headlines over the past few weeks. Following Butler’s public rant about wanting to be traded, the Heat slammed him with a suspension.
But many believe that the writing was already on the wall with the Heat hesitant to give Jimmy a contract extension. While Butler’s partnership with the Heat will likely end on a sour note, Cousins doesn’t see that happening between Steph and the Warriors.
“I don’t want to see him in another jersey. It was hard enough seeing Klay in another jersey. I don’t see Golden State letting him go.”
“It will never be a Miami type situation with Steph, Golden State will do everything in their power to keep him there. If he was to leave it would be a Steph move, ‘I want to go and get one more, two more whatever the case may be.’”
At 36 years old, Curry is struggling to score for the first time since the 2012-13 NBA season (excluding the injury-ridden 2019-20 season).
But he is by far the best player on the current Dubs roster. Even though they are 18-17 right now, they can turn things around with Steph.
