Every time Hoonigan announces they’ve added another unique creation to their collection, the vehicle is always incredibly special in some way or another. Whether it be their Ford RS200, the Subaru GL Family Huckster, or the legendary Hoonicorn, you know a lot of hard work has gone into building it, and now, one of their vehicles has come up for sale on Cars & Bids.
Dubbed “Lord Frightening” the custom truck is meant to be an homage to the F-150 Lightning shop truck from the first Fast & Furious film and was actually built in conjunction with Paul Walker’s brother Cody. The reasoning behind Hoonigan’s decision to sell it is simply because they need to make room for more cars.

Outside, the Ford features a Lightning-style body kit, which is complemented by a suspension drop thanks to Viking coilovers up front and Belltech street performance shocks out back. Elsewhere, there’s a set of 19-inch Volk TE37 wheels in white framing Baer Extreme 6S brake calipers. Additional aesthetic modifications include clear turn signal lenses, tinted windows, aftermarket taillights, and an antenna delete.
Moving to the interior, you’re immediately greeted by the Sparco R333 bucket seats, which are accompanied by a Sparco steering wheel, pillar-mounted pod gauges, an upgraded sound system, and a digital instrument cluster (which unfortunately isn’t wired in). The original gear selector and climate control system have been removed, presumably to reduce weight, but Thermo-Tec sound-deadening material was installed to introduce some refinement back in.

The crown jewel of the build is what’s under the hood: the legendary 2JZ-GTE from the A80 Toyota Supra. The 3.0L turbocharged inline-six is said to make 500 hp (507 PS / 373 kW) at the wheels, and that’s thanks to a serious list of modifications. The engine features such upgrades as a Garrett G30-770 58mm turbocharger kit, Haltech ignition coils, a Mishimoto radiator, dual electric fans, an aluminum coolant tank, a Greddy intake manifold, and various aftermarket exhaust components. Engine management is handled by a Haltech Elite 2000 ECU, and power is sent to a Currie rear axle by way of a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission and an aftermarket driveshaft.

Admittedly, the F-150 does have quite a checkered past. In 2017, it was issued a junk title, then assigned three separate rebuilt titles since 2019. The current title falls under the rebuilt/salvage category, and the vehicle’s Carfax notes another accident back in 2006. Additionally, there are a few known mechanical issues with it, even in its working state, such as a rich-running engine in need of a retune, the aforementioned unwired digital instrument cluster, and a throw-out bearing in need of replacement. If it’s any comfort, though, components such as the inner and outer tie rods, wheels, tires, front bumper, and grille were all replaced as of August 2023, so there’s at least been an attempt to keep the truck maintained.
