Petronas Lubricants Asia has launched the Urania with StrongTech range of engine lubricants today, its latest for diesel-powered light commercial vehicles.
Three grades of the Urania diesel engine lubricant have been announced from launch, each in 7.5 litre and one-litre packs; these are the Urania 500 LCV LA 5W-30 fully synthetic oil, the Urania 3000 LCV LA 10W-40 semi-synthetic oil, and the Urania 300 LCV 15W-40 mineral oil.
Prices for the Petronas Urania Light Commercial vehicle range of diesel engine lubricants are as follows:
- Urania 5000 LCV LA 5W-30 (7.5L) – RM400 per pack
- Urania 5000 LCV LA 5W-30 (1L x 16-pack carton) – RM58 per pack, RM926 per carton
- Urania 3000 LCV LA 10W-40 (7.5L) – RM221 per pack
- Urania 3000 LCV LA 10W-40 (1L x 16-pack carton) – RM30 per pack, RM480 per carton
- Urania 3000 LCV LA 15W-40 (7.5L) – RM143 per pack
- Urania 3000 LCV LA 15W-40 (1L x 16-pack carton) – RM20 per pack, RM320 per carton
The latest range of Petronas Urania lubricants get StrongTech technology, which brings a stronger molecular formulation to reduce metal-on-metal contact between engine components, even at extreme temperature, with stronger resistance to oxidation and viscosity loss. Meanwhile, stronger cleaning properties enables better control of soot emissions and deposits.
According to Petronas, the Urania 5000 LCV LA fully synthetic and Urania 3000 LCV LA semi-synthetic lubricants are low SAPS (low sulphated ash, phosphorus and sulphur) oils, while the Urania 3000 LCV is a premium mineral oil; all are intended for diesel engines with turbochargers, multi-valve valvetrain and fuel injection, operating under most severe conditions, says the company.
The Urania 5000 LCV LA 5W-30 meets the specifications of API CK-4, while the Urania 3000 LCV LA 10W-40 meets the specifications of API CK-4, CJ-4 and SN, along with ACEA E7,E9 and E11, and the Cummins Engineering Standards (CES) 20086 performance level.
The Urania 3000 LCV 15W-30 premium mineral oil meets the specifications of API CI-4, API SL and SJ, along with ACEA E7, Global DHD-1, and JASO DH-1, while meeting the Cummins Engineering Standards (CES) 20078 and 20077 performance levels, according to Petronas.
To recap, the Petronas Urania with StrongTech range of diesel engine lubricants for light commercial vehicles has been launched in three grades, and are on sale in 7.5 litre and one-litre packs (as well as 16-pack 1L cartons), from RM20 to RM58 per 1L pack, or from RM143 to RM400 per 7.5L pack.
