There are numerous Mahindra vehicles that serve as the backbone of the police and armed forces in India. The Mumbai police, which already employs the Mahindra TUV300 as patrol cars, has also introduced new XUV700 SUVs. Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, flagged off several new police vehicles in Maharashtra, including the XUV700.

The new Mahindra XUV700 seen among the new police vehicles does not appear to be a marked vehicle; it is clean and lacks any police insignia. However, there is a strobe light on the roof of the car. It is likely that the vehicle was driven directly from the showroom to the flagging-off ceremony and will receive the standard police patrol car markings later.

Furthermore, it seems to be the only Mahindra XUV700 present. While there are no details regarding the number of vehicles inducted, it is highly likely that only one vehicle was delivered initially, with more units to follow later. The Mahindra XUV700 has had a substantial waiting period since its launch in the Indian market, which could explain the staggered delivery.
Additionally, the Mahindra XUV700 offers two engine options: a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.2-litre diesel engine, both available with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission choices. The petrol engine boasts a maximum power output of 200 PS and a maximum torque of 380 Nm, while the diesel engine delivers 185 PS of maximum power and 450 Nm of maximum torque.

Mahindra also provides an Alexa-controlled infotainment system, featuring multiple-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and more. Owners can wirelessly adjust the cabin’s temperature to achieve the perfect interior climate upon entering the vehicle.
The Mahindra XUV700 competes with other popular seven-seater SUVs in the Indian market, including the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar. It is also available in a five-seater configuration, competing with SUVs such as the Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and Nissan Kicks.
Furthermore, the vehicle is equipped with an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) that includes features like an automatic braking system, adaptive cruise control, and driver drowsiness alerts. The XUV700 also offers over 60 connected features, allowing owners to remotely control various vehicle functions from anywhere in the world.
