Jokic appeared in 69 games last season. The five-time All-Star averaged 24.5 points, 11.8 rebounds and 9.8 assists while shooting 63.2% from the field, 38.3% from beyond the arc and 82.2% from the free-throw line. The Joker recorded 58 double-doubles and 29 triple-doubles for the Nuggets.

In the 2023 playoffs against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat, Jokic averaged 30.0 points, 13.5 rebounds and 9.5 assists while shooting 54.8% overall, 46.1% from 3 and 79.9% from the foul line. The Nuggets beat the Heat in the NBA Finals in five games, with Jokic winning the Finals MVP Award. The two-time MVP averaged 30.2 points, 14.0 rebounds and 7.2 assists in the Finals while shooting 58.3% overall, 42.1% from 3-point range and 83.8% from the charity stripe.

Jokic has career averages of 20.2 points, 10.5 rebounds and 6.6 assists. He will make the Hall of Fame one day, which is incredible considering he was a second-round pick.
The last team to win back-to-back champions was the Golden State Warriors, who won the title in 2017 and 2018. It will be interesting to see if Jokic and the Nuggets can repeat as champions this year. Denver opens the season versus the Lakers at home.
