Continuing their dream runs in the Indian car market, the Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classic have ensured that the cash registers at Mahindra keep on ringing. Now, with an increase in the production of both SUVs by Mahindra, the waiting periods for both of them have dropped.

Even after more than a year of their launch, both the Mahindra Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classic are attracting huge demands. Previously, the waiting periods of Mahindra Scorpio-N were stretched above a year, while that for the Scorpio Classic was quite long. Now, with the production facilities operating in full swing, the waiting periods for both Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classic have come down.
With the Mahindra Scorpio-N first, while the Z2 petrol variants now command a waiting period of 4-5 months, that for the Z4 petrol variants now stretches between 5-8 months. For the Z8 petrol variants, the waiting periods are 6-8 months for the manual and 3-4 months for the automatic, while for the top-spec Z8L petrol variants, they are 5-6 months for the manual and 2-3 months for the automatic variants.

The diesel variants of the Mahindra Scorpio-N are comparatively more in demand, with the diesel-manual variants of the SUV still commanding waiting periods as long as 6-9 months. However, for the automatic variants, the waiting periods are significantly shorter – between 2-3 months. Meanwhile, all the variants of the Scorpio-N, which are equipped with ESP, can take up to 9 months for delivery, regardless of petrol or diesel specification. On the other hand, the Mahindra Scorpio Classic, which is solely available with a diesel-manual configuration for both of its variants – S and S11 – are now taking up to 4 months to be delivered.
Both petrol and diesel engines are available
The Mahindra Scorpio-N is currently offered with two powertrain choices – a 2.0-litre 203 PS turbocharged petrol and a 2.2-litre 175 PS diesel engine. Both these powertrain choices are offered with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options, with the diesel engine also available with a 4XPLOR four-wheel drive system. The prices of Scorpio-N range between Rs 13.06 lakh to Rs 24.51 lakh.
Meanwhile, Mahindra is offered the Scorpio Classic with only the 2.2-litre diesel engine, which here is in a detuned state and claims 130 PS, while available only with a 6-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive configuration. The Mahindra Scorpio Classic’s variants are priced between Rs 13.25 lakh to Rs 17.06 lakh.
