One NBA writer is proposing that the Toronto Raptors acquire Paul George from the Los Angeles Clippers in a blockbuster deal. Eddie Bitar of Fadeaway World proposed the following trade idea between the Clippers and Raptors:

“George is a talented player, known for his scoring ability and defensive prowess, and forming a Big Three with Pascal Siakam and Scottie Barnes could make the Raptors a formidable force in the Eastern Conference,” Bitar wrote in his NBA trade column. “However, George’s injury history and inconsistent performance make this a gamble. It’s a high-stakes bet on his health and consistency, much like the Raptors’ gamble on Kawhi Leonard’s impending free agency back in 2018-19.

“For the Raptors, the prospect of a Big Three featuring Siakam, Barnes, and George is undeniably exciting. Siakam is a versatile star, Barnes shows great promise as a young player, and George, if healthy and performing at his best, can elevate the team’s competitiveness. This would be a bold move to return to championship contention and would mirror the success they achieved with Leonard.”
George appeared in 56 games for the Clippers last season. The eight-time NBA All-Star averaged 23.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.1 assists. George suffered a knee injury near the end of the regular season and didn’t play in the Clippers’ first-round postseason series versus the Phoenix Suns.
George will make $45.6 million this season and has a player option worth $48.8 million for the 2024-25 season. The Clippers and George have talked about an extension, so it’s doubtful George will get traded.

However, if George and the Clippers can’t agree to an extension, Raptors president Masai Ujiri could come lurking.
