The facelifted Mahindra XUV300 has already been spotted undergoing trial runs in fully camouflaged form. Now, a significant development has come to light regarding the updated XUV300. If reports are accurate, the new Mahindra XUV300 facelift will feature the same Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic transmission that Mahindra offers in other models like the Thar, Scorpio-N, and XUV700.
The Mahindra XUV300 is currently available with three engine options: a 1.2-liter three-cylinder 110 PS turbocharged petrol, a 1.2-liter three-cylinder 131 PS turbocharged petrol, and a 1.5-liter four-cylinder 118 PS diesel engine. All of these engines are paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, while a 6-speed AMT is available with the 110 PS petrol and 118 PS diesel engines.

According to ACI, the 6-speed manual gearbox will continue to be offered with all the engine options, the new 6-speed automatic transmission is expected to replace the 6-speed AMT in the 110 PS petrol variants. Meanwhile, the diesel engine might be offered with only the 6-speed manual gearbox in the facelifted XUV300.
Meanwhile, here’s a speculative render of the facelifted XUV300 with design language inspired by the larger XUV700.
The Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic transmission, first introduced by Mahindra in the now-discontinued XUV500, has become the preferred choice for automatic transmission by Mahindra over the past decade. In addition to Mahindra’s SUVs, this 6-speed automatic transmission by Aisin is also used by Maruti Suzuki in models such as the Fronx, Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, and Grand Vitara, as well as by Volkswagen in the Taigun and Virtus, Skoda in the Kushaq and Slavia, and MG in the Astor Turbo.
Aside from the new transmission option, the facelifted Mahindra XUV300 will undergo significant exterior tweaks, including a new grille, updated LED headlamps and tail lamps, and new alloy wheels. Initial sightings of the test mule of the Mahindra XUV300 facelift suggest that it will inherit some design elements from the larger XUV700.
Updated cabin
The interior of the Mahindra XUV300 will also see substantial revisions, with a new dashboard layout, a new full-TFT instrument console, a freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, and a segment-first panoramic sunroof. The XUV300 currently offers other first-in-segment features like dual-zone automatic climate control and steering modes, which will continue to be available in the facelifted model.
The new Mahindra XUV300 is expected to arrive in showrooms in the first half of 2024 and will compete with models like the new Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, the upcoming Kia Sonet facelift, Hyundai Venue, and Maruti Suzuki Fronx.
