One NBA writer is proposing that the Golden State Warriors trade for Toronto Raptors All-Star forward Pascal Siakam in a massive blockbuster deal. Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Warriors and Raptors:
The Golden State Warriors trade Chris Paul, Jonathan Kuminga, Brandin Podziemski and a 2027 first-round pick to the Toronto Raptors for Pascal Siakam
Siakam appeared in 71 games for the Raptors last season. The NBA champion averaged 24.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 5.8 assists while shooting 48.0% from the field, 32.4% from beyond the arc and 77.4% from the free-throw line.

Siakam, who has career NBA averages of 17.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists, is eligible to sign an extension with the Raptors. However, there have been no conversations about an extension between Toronto and Siakam. Siakam can sign for 30 percent of the salary cap either now via extension or next offseason as a free agent with the Raptors or any other franchise.
The Warriors could start Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, Siakam and Draymond Green if Golden State’s front office figured out a way to acquire Siakam from Toronto.

The Warriors acquired Paul from the Washington Wizards in the Jordan Poole trade earlier this offseason. They haven’t been linked to Siakam, so the odds of Golden State trading for Siakam are low, although we can’t rule anything out in today’s NBA.
The Warriors lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the 2023 playoffs in six games. It was the first time Golden State lost in the playoffs before getting to the NBA Finals in the Steve Kerr era.
