The Kansas City Chiefs began the 2023 NFL season as the Super Bowl favorites. They didn’t last very long on top of the board, as they dropped their opening week game, causing their designation to rise. They were quickly overtaken by the San Francisco 49ers, who looked practically unbeatable through 5 dominant games, and held on to the top spot all the way up until Monday night.

Things have changes for the 49ers over the past two weeks. After demolishing the Cowboys in front of a national audience, there was talk about whether San Francisco would lose a game all season. That notion didn’t last long, as Kyle Shanahan and company were upset by the Cleveland Browns and third string quarterback PJ Walker in Week 7. They followed that up by losing to the Vikings in Week 8, who were 2-4 on the year with wins over the Bears and Panthers.
The 49ers are not only beatable, but it is unclear whether or not they are still the best team in the NFL. There are two teams that have better records in the Chiefs and Eagles, and San Francisco’s 5-2 mark puts them tied with five other teams around the league.
Entering Week 7, BetOnline had given the 49ers a +400 designation to win the Super Bowl, with the Chiefs back at +500. Those numbers have shifted, as Kansas City is now considered to be the slight favorite, sitting at +425. San Francisco moves down into the second spot with a listing of +450, giving the league two clear favorites to meet in the big game.

But the Philadelphia Eagles aren’t far behind, coming off of their big win against the Dolphins. They are currently at +650, and are one of just three NFL teams to have a Super Bowl designation of less than +1000.
The Dolphins and Bills saw their numbers increase this week after tough losses, as did the Lions. But one of the biggest risers of the week was the Baltimore Ravens, whose dominant win over Detroit apparently turned some heads at the sports book. Quarterback Lamar Jackson saw his name get thrown into the MVP conversation, and the Ravens are now sitting at +1200, the same designation as Buffalo.
The Bengals (+2000) and Jaguars (+2500) round out the top 10.
