Tata Motors’ newest arrival, the Harrier facelift, has commenced deliveries. Now, with more cars on the roads, people are making various comparisons of this SUV with other vehicles in the market. Recently, a new Tata Harrier facelift Dark Edition was pitted against the legendary Toyota Fortuner SUV in a drag race. In this video, both of these SUVs were tested to determine the winner between the two.

The video of the Tata Harrier facelift drag race against the Toyota Fortuner has been shared on YouTube by Yagya Sharma on their channel. The video starts with the vlogger introducing both cars. He mentions that the Harrier facelift here is the new Dark Edition model, equipped with the same Kryotec turbocharged 2.0-liter diesel engine as the old model, producing around 170 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. He adds that the overall weight of the Harrier is lower than that of the Fortuner.

Next, he mentions that the Fortuner in the video is a 2017 model, powered by a 2.8-liter turbocharged diesel engine, producing a maximum of 175 bhp of power and 450 Nm of torque. He states that the Fortuner is significantly heavier than the Harrier, but it gets more torque. Then, both SUVs are lined up at the starting line, and he asks his friends which SUV they think will win. Many of them answer that the Fortuner will win the series of drag races.

Before beginning the first round, the presenter mentions that both cars will be kept in sports mode and their air conditioning systems will be turned off. Following this, they commence the first round, and the Harrier driver takes off before the count of three. However, despite the early start, he could not keep up with the Fortuner, which eventually overtakes it and wins the first round.

After this, they start the second round, and this time, both vehicles start at the same time. The Harrier tries to keep up with the Fortuner initially but then gets left behind by a considerable margin. Next, they start the third round, and for this round, the Fortuner driver switches the car to normal mode and turns off the air conditioner.

Once again, the Harrier couldn’t manage to take a lead in the race. The Fortuner overtakes the Harrier facelift; however, a biker appears on the road, causing the Fortuner driver to back off. He adds that if the biker were not there, he would have definitely won the race. In the last round, another car obstructs the race, but the Toyota Fortuner is still the clear winner. The Fortuner driver stated that as the race is taking place on a public road, they have to ensure safety by backing off when necessary.
