FX & Hulu revealed another short new 60-second trailer for the epic historical series Shōgun, created by writers Justin Marks & Rachel Kondo. A saga of war, passion, and power set in Feudal Japan. From James Clavell’s novel of the same name, FX’s Shōgun is set at the dawn of a century-defining civil war. Lord Yoshii Toranaga is fighting for his life as his enemies on the Council of Regents unite against him, when a mysterious European ship is found in a nearby fishing village. It follows John Blackthorne, a sailor who rises from outsider to samurai, while being used as a pawn in Japanese leader Toranaga’s struggle to reach the top of Shogun. Hiroyuki Sanada stars as Yoshii Toranaga, co-starring with Cosmo Jarvis as Blackthorne, and a massive ensemble: Tadanobu Asano, Anna Sawai, Yûki Kedôin, Eushin Lee, Tommy Bastow, Hiroto Kanai, Emi Kamito, Hiromoto Ida, Kengo Hashimoto, Sen Mars, Toshi Toda, Mako Fujimoto. I was already impressed by the first trailer, this has even more incredible footage in it. How does this look so damn good?! // Continue Reading ›
