Prime Video's original sci-fi series The Power featured notable names like Toni Collette and John Leguizamo in its first season, but will there be a season 2? Based on the novel of the same name by English writer Naomi Alderman, The Power concerns an alternate Earth where every teenage girl suddenly develops superhero-like electrical powers. Besides its typical comic book premise, The Power touches brilliantly on issues like gender, power structures, and societal norms, and it did so in a compelling and exhilarating manner that reflected the energy of Alderman's novel. Despite a nine-episode first season, it was clear that the story had more to offer.
