The first image was posted by Mohammad Shami on X (formerly Twitter). In this picture, he is seen beside his Jaguar F-Type sports car. The photo circulated after Rishabh Pant’s major car accident involving a GLE. Many users expressed concerns in the comment section, urging the cricketer not to drive the car and to hire a driver.

The Jaguar F-Type in the image was purchased by Mohammed Shami a year ago. It’s a CBU model, which is reflected in its pricing. This two-door sports car is entirely manufactured and imported from England. Equipped with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder supercharged petrol engine generating 295 Bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque, it’s paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard. Power is directed to the rear wheels, and the car boasts a top speed of 249 Kmph. This sports car can do 0-100 kmph in just 5.7 seconds. Price for a brand new Jaguar F-Type starts at Rs 99.98 lakh, ex-showroom and goes up to Rs 1.53 crore, ex-showroom. Jaguar also offers a much more powerful version of F-Type with a 5.0 litre V8 supercharged engine.

In addition to the Jaguar F-Type, Mohammed Shami also owns a bike. However, unlike MS Dhoni and many other young actors in the country, he doesn’t own a superbike. Shami has been spotted with a Royal Enfield Continental GT 650, leaning on it in an image he shared. He opted for the Mister Chrome variant of the motorcycle. When launched, the 650 twins were the most affordable twin-cylinder motorcycles in the country. Presently, there are more options available from various manufacturers in this segment.
The Continental GT 650 features a 647cc, parallel-twin cylinder, fuel-injected engine that generates 47 Bhp and 52 Nm of peak torque. The price for a brand new Royal Enfield Continental GT now starts at Rs 3.18 lakh, ex-showroom, and goes up to 3.44 lakh, ex-showroom, for the top-end trim. The price when Mohammed Shami bought it might have been much lower than the current price.
Returning to yesterday’s performance, Mohammed Shami broke several records. He became the first Indian bowler to claim 50 wickets in an ODI World Cup. He was also the fastest bowler to reach 50 wickets in an ODI World Cup. Additionally, he set the record for the most number of five-wicket hauls in a single edition of the World Cup. Shami has taken 5 or more wickets in three World Cup matches. Moreover, he set a new record for the most number of wickets for India in a single edition of the ODI World Cup, surpassing Zaheer Khan’s record of 21 wickets from 9 matches in the 2011 World Cup.
