The Indian automotive giant Mahindra is known for producing some of the most popular and capable SUVs in the country. Presently, two of the most popular SUVs in its lineup in India are the XUV700 and Scorpio-N. Both of these SUVs have their separate fan bases, and recently, two owners who own each one of these SUVs had a discussion. They answered the questions regarding why each of them went for their respective choices, as both of these SUVs are similarly priced. The video of their discussion has now been shared online.
This video involving both the owners of the XUV700 and Scorpio-N has been shared on YouTube by The Car Show on their channel. The video starts off with the presenter introducing his friend and owner of the XUV700 and also his own Mahindra Scorpio-N. Following this, he asks his friend about the variant of his SUV. The friend then answers that he has gone with the XUV700 AX7 Diesel automatic transmission variant. He adds that the on-road price of it came to Rs 26.5 lakh. The presenter then adds that his Scorpio-N is the Z6 diesel manual variant, and its price was Rs 17 lakh on-road.
Why did they choose their respective SUVs?
Exterior designs
Following the introduction, the presenter starts off with the first main question. He asks his friend why he went for the Mahindra XUV700 instead of the Scorpio-N. To this, he answered that his main priority with his choice was the luxury exterior appearance. He stated that the XUV700 looks more elegant and sophisticated, while on the other hand, the Scorpio-N looks a lot more bulky and bold, which he did not want.
The presenter then added that this was the exact reason why he went for the Scorpio-N. He stated that he wanted to get something that had a massive street presence without spending an extremely high amount of money. He added that he prefers the raised bonnet and higher stance of the Scorpio-N.
Specific variants
Next up, the presenter asked his friend why exactly he went with the AX7 Diesel automatic variant. To this, he replies that the AX7L, which was above this variant, had only a few more features, and the price difference was around Rs 3-4 lakh. He stated that, according to him, it was not worth it. After this, he added that the variant below it did not come with ADAS, which was a requirement for him, so that is why he did not go with the lower variant of the model.
Following this, the presenter then gives his reason for buying the Scorpio-N. He states that, according to him, the Z6 variant is the most value for money. The presenter stated that this variant gets almost all the features and is priced very competitively. He added that he actually wanted to get the automatic variant. However, it was Rs 2.25 lakh more expensive, and it had an even longer waiting period.
Interior designs
Next up, the friend of the presenter added that he felt that the interior of the XUV700 is more luxurious. The presenter also agreed with this point and stated that the Scorpio-N’s interior is also decent and luxurious enough, but it does feel a little more rugged than the XUV700. He added that he likes the dual-screen setup and the soft-touch materials of the XUV700.
