The number of road accidents reported in India has tremendously increased after the pandemic. Many people who drive or ride in India still lack patience or basic etiquette. Such drivers often create inconvenience for other road users, leading to accidents. This trend might be due to the rising number of road accidents, resulting in an increased preference for Tata cars known for their build quality. There have been several instances where Tata cars have saved the lives of occupants during major accidents. In a video shared by Nikhil Rana on his YouTube channel, the driver of a Tata Tiago NRG escapes unhurt after a truck crashes into his car.
The video and images were shared with the vlogger by the owner of the Tata Tiago NRG. The accident occurred somewhere in Uttar Pradesh. According to the video, the car owner was driving on a highway when a truck suddenly crashed into his car from the opposite lane. The owner had installed a dash camera in his car, capturing the entire incident.
The car was traveling along a two-lane highway in Uttar Pradesh. It appears that the area had experienced some rainfall as the road looked wet. A local bus was parked carelessly on the side of the road, obstructing the view and the pathway for other vehicles approaching from the rear. As the Tiago driver approached the bus, they suddenly spotted a mini truck overtaking it. The car driver applied brakes in time, allowing the truck to pass by on the side.
Immediately following the mini pickup truck was a Tata Sumo used by the Uttar Pradesh Police, with a truck right behind it. It seems the Tata Sumo driver didn’t notice the bus parked on the road and abruptly applied brakes to avoid a collision. However, the truck behind the Sumo wasn’t anticipating this maneuver. In an attempt to avoid crashing into the rear of the Tata Sumo, the truck driver also applied brakes, causing the truck to slip and its tail to start moving sideways.
As this occurred, the truck veered, heading towards the oncoming Tata Tiago NRG. The truck driver couldn’t stop in time, and the Tiago driver didn’t have enough space to maneuver the car away. The truck crashed into the driver’s side door, shattering the window instantly. The owner noted that the car absorbed the impact well, with only the driver’s side door and window sustaining damage. Another factor preventing the Tiago driver from avoiding the crash was an old man cycling in front of the car. The car halted right in front of the old man, who emerged from the situation unharmed. Just like all other Tata cars, Tiago is also a car that scored pretty well in the Global NCAP crash test. The Tiago and Tigor sedan have scored 4 star rating in the crash test. This video serves as another example emphasizing the importance of being considerate to other road users while driving on public roads. If the bus driver had parked or stopped the bus safely on the side of the road, this accident could have been easily prevented.
