With the top-spec variants of all new cars becoming immensely expensive, people are now opting to go for lower, more value-for-money variants. One of the most popular premium MPVs that sells a high number of its lower variants is the Kia Carens MPV. A ton of people take this MPV to aftermarket shops and get them fully customized according to their taste. Recently, a video of one such Carens, customized into a unique Red Dark Edition, has been shared online.
Kia Carens Red Dark Edition
The video of this Kia Carens modified into a Red Dark Edition has been shared on YouTube by Vig Auto Accessories on their channel. It starts off with the introduction of this Kia Carens. The presenter states the owner of this car took delivery in Udupi, Karnataka, and drove all the way to Navi Mumbai to reach his shop. After this, he stated that the owner wanted to get the base variant, but as it did not come in black color, he went for the Prestige Plus variant.
Exterior modifications: Side
Following this, he starts listing off all the modifications done by them on this particular MPV. The presenter starts with the side profile and mentions that the first upgrade they have done is replacing the old side claddings. He explains that they have added the top-spec variant’s silver and matte black cladding along with a flush-mounted side stepper. He adds that they have also chrome garnish on the C pillar as well; they have replaced the black door handles with chrome ones.
Front and rear
Next up, the presenter shows the front of the Carens and adds that the first modification is of the headlights. He states that they have added Osram CBI Pro projector lights to give it a more powerful throw. After this, he adds that the car has also been given the top-spec luxury line variant’s chrome garnishes as well as original fog lamps. He also mentions that they have done the same at the rear profile of the car and have added genuine Kia chrome garnishes as well.
Interior modifications
Moving on, the presenter shares the main highlight of this project. He opens all the doors of the car and mentions that it gets brand new customized leather-wrapped interior. He states that all the door panels of the car have been wrapped in red leather and have been given active ambient lighting. Apart from this, he also shows the rear red seats covers along with wrapped A, B, and C-pillars. Additionally, he mentions that they have also added black and red foot mats as well.
He then shows the front of the interior and states that it gets a muscular D-cut steering wheel which has been wrapped in the same red leather. He also shows the luxury line variant’s techno-print dashboard panel. After the front, he moves to the rear of the car and shows the audio upgrades given to this Kia Carens.
Audio upgrades
The presenter mentions that the car has been given high-quality Sony ES series speakers and components. He states the price on these is Rs 25,000, and there is a 20% discount. After this, he mentions that they have also added Sony ES series coaxials which are priced at Rs 20,000 and also get a 20% discount. Lastly, he adds that the car has also been given a Sony XM-GS4 amplifier with OFC wiring as well.
