The ninth installment in the popular Friday the 13th franchise saw iconic slasher Jason Voorhees return as a malevolent spirit seeking the means to resurrect himself following his death in the movie's opening. The sequel, which starred John D. LeMay, Kane Hodder, Kari Keegan, and Steven Williams, was poorly received upon release by audiences and critics alike, grossing only $15.9 million on a budget of $3 million and becoming the second-worst performing movie in the franchise.
