Hyundai is about to unveil the facelifted version of the Creta in the Indian market, with a series of official teasers hinting at extensive visual and technological updates. The company also announced the powertrain lineup which is enriched with the addition of a more potent turbocharged gasoline engine.
The second-generation Creta has been around since 2019, and its design language has started feeling a bit outdated compared to newer members of the Hyundai lineup. For 2024, the SUV adopts a boxier stance and a serious-looking face. The new full-width LEDs merge with the larger grille, the lower units of the split headlights are smaller, and the hood is taller and flatter than before. Furthermore, the LED taillights mirror the ones at the front, and both bumpers feature aluminum-style skid plates.

Hyundai India
Hyundai published a single photo of the interior, showing the overhauled dashboard. Predictably, the Creta adopts a unified layout for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment display which is common among nearly all Hyundai models. We can also see the elongated vents, and the revised climate controls on the center console. Finally, safety equipment will be improved with more ADAS.
The 2024 Hyundai Creta will offer a trio of non-electrified powertrain options. The 1.5-liter MPi gasoline and 1.5-liter CRDi diesel engines producing an identical 113 hp (85 kW / 115 PS) will be carried over from the outgoing model. However, they will be joined by a new and more potent turbocharged 1.5-liter Kappa T-GDi gasoline engine producing 158 hp (118 kW / 160 PS). Depending on the powertrain, gearbox options include a six-speed manual, a six-speed automatic, a CVT, or a seven-speed DCT automatic.
Hyundai is already accepting orders for the facelifted Creta, which will go on sale in India later this month. It is not clear if the aforementioned updates will be mirrored by the Creta models which are sold in China, Brazil, and Mexico sometime in the future. As for the Indonesian-built Creta that debuted in 2022, this will most likely keep its unique Tucson-inspired looks.
