Following pre-installation going live earlier this week, HoYoverse has released the newest major Genshin Impact (Free) update on iOS, Android, PC, and PlayStation platforms. Genshin Impact version 4.4 “Vibrant Harriers Aloft in the Spring Breeze” features an expansion of Liyue to the northwest connecting to Fontaine in the Chenyu Vale area, the Lantern Rite Festival event returning, mini games with a free new Xingqiu outfit, new playable characters: Xianyun and Gaming, costumes for Shenhe and Ganyu, and more. If you already pre-installed it on mobile, you should have a download of just a few hundred MB within the client. The in-game download for Genshin Impact 4.4 was about 400MB on iPhone 15 Pro for this update after pre-installation. The full patch notes are not available as of this writing, but should go up soon. If you’ve not gotten it yet, you can download Genshin Impact for free on the App Store for iOS here and on Google Play for Android here. The PC version is available on the official website here and the Epic Games Store. If you play on iOS, with iOS 14.5 or iPadOS 14.5 and later, you can use PS5 and Xbox Series X|S controllers to play Genshin Impact. We featured Genshin Impact as our Game of the Week when it released and awarded it our 2020 Game of the Year. I also featured it as one of the best iOS games to play with a controller.
