According to NBA insider Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic, the Minnesota Timberwolves are interested in adding Kyle Lowry and Dennis Schroder.
The Toronto Raptors are open to trading Schroder, while Lowry will either get traded or bought out by the Charlotte Hornets.
“Toronto’s Dennis Schroder and Kyle Lowry, who was recently traded from Miami to Charlotte and likely will be moving on via trade or buyout, are two other names on the radar,” Krawczynski wrote in his NBA trade rumors column. “Finch coached Lowry for half of a season in Toronto before he was hired to take over in Minnesota.”
The Miami Heat traded Lowry to the Hornets in the Terry Rozier deal. Lowry averaged 8.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.4 blocks with the Heat this season before getting traded while shooting 42.6% from the field, 38.5% from beyond the arc and 83.3% from the foul line.

Meanwhile, Schroder is averaging 13.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.2 blocks for the Raptors while shooting 44.2% from the floor, 34.6% from 3 and 85.9% from the foul line. He’s making $12.4 million this season.
The Timberwolves are 35-15 on the season. They are tied with the Oklahoma City Thunder for first place in the West. The front office has been aggressive in searching for trading partners to help address a few concerns and better position the team for a deep playoff run, per Krawczynski.
Lowry has career averages of 14.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.3 blocks with the Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets, Raptors and Heat. The Villanova product helped the Raptors win the 2019 NBA championship over the Golden State Warriors.

Schroder, meanwhile, has career averages of 14.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.1 blocks with the Atlanta Hawks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Rockets and Raptors.
