In this context, it’s hardly shocking that owners have begun flocking to the drag strip with their Cybertrucks, and the resulting times are nothing short of impressive, particularly when you consider the sheer weight and size of the electric pickup truck.
YouTuber DblCapCrimpin, owner of the range-topping Tesla Cybertruck Cyberbeast, recently shared a video featuring multiple runs on the 1/8 mile strip. Impressively, the electric truck demonstrated remarkable consistency, with four out of the five passes clocking in within the narrowest of margins. More specifically, the Cybertruck completed the 1/8 mile in 6.88, 6.86, 6.89, and 6.95 seconds, with only a slightly slower 7.64-second pass occurring when it encountered a bit of water.

The EV also undertook a couple of timed 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprints, completing them in 2.68 and 2.72 seconds, respectively, with over 1g of longitudinal acceleration. It’s worth noting that the official 0-60 mph figure for the most powerful Cyberbeast version stands at 2.6 seconds, made possible by an 845 hp (630 kW / 857 PS) tri-motor setup.
Whether you’re a hardcore Tesla fan or skeptic, these figures are undeniably bonkers for a truck tipping the scales at a hefty 6,920 lbs (3,139 kg) and sporting stock all-terrain 35-inch tires. Following his initial trials, DblCapCrimpin is confident he can dip below the 6-second mark for the 1/8 mile with some weight reduction and a set of stickier road-focused rubber. The latter could prove to be a game-changer, enabling the EV to harness its power more effectively.
It’s a safe bet that the Tesla Cybertruck will be featured in countless more drag racing videos in the future, further stoking the internet’s obsession with lightning-fast car launches. Nevertheless, it’s become evident that the Cybertruck excels in shorter runs, while ICE-powered sports cars and supercars are likely to dominate the more demanding quarter-mile test.
