Taking a cue from the fervor for special editions seen across passenger vehicles of all shapes and sizes, Ford has playfully joined the trend in the heavy-duty realm with its latest offering: the Ford F-Max Select. Limited to just 400 units, this special edition heavy duty tuck comes adorned with distinctive touches inside and out, coupled with a generous array of equipment.
The F-Max has been the flagship model of Ford Trucks since its debut in 2018 when it replaced the similarly-sized Cargo model. This explains why it was chosen as a base for the special edition. It sports a bi-tone treatment of Black Agate and Bronze hues. Furthermore, black accents adorn the steel rims, wheel arch moldings, and steps, while bronze finishes grace the mirror caps, complemented by LED headlights featuring darkened clusters.

Ford F-Max Select
Inside, a numbered plaque adorns the dashboard, accompanied by “Select” emblems on the seats and steering wheel. Bronze accents and stitching contrast with the black upholstery, mirroring the exterior’s spec.
As with most special editions, the Ford F-Max Select comes packed with features, including a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen, air-suspended driver and passenger seats, a mini fridge, and a double bed at the back. Safety equipment is comparable to a modern passenger vehicle with ADAS like intelligent adaptive cruise control with stop & go, active lane keeping assist, blind spot information, and more, plus the preparation for an alcohol interlock system.
There are no changes to the powertrain, with the 12.7-liter Ecotorq diesel engine producing 493 hp (368 kW / 500 PS) and 2,500 Nm (1,844 lb-ft) of torque, just like the stock F-Max. Power is transmitted to the rear axle through a 16-speed automatic gearbox.
Ford has not disclosed pricing information for the 400 units of the F-Max Select, so interested parties should reach out to their local dealer for details. Interestingly, this isn’t the first limited edition variant of this HD truck. That distinction goes to the F-Max Blackline, introduced in 2021 with an even more restricted availability of 250 units. The Blackline boasted sportier aesthetics, including racing stripes on the exterior and blue accents within the cabin.
