The upcoming years will be jam-packed with launches from India’s largest automaker, Maruti Suzuki India Limited. The Indo-Japanese automaker company is planning to launch a total of 8 new cars in the ever-growing Indian car market. Today, we bring to you all of the cars that have been lined up by MSIL for launch in the upcoming months and years. Hold on tight!
All-new fourth-generation Swift
First and foremost, the company is gearing up for the launch of the all-new fourth-generation Swift in India. The company will be launching this brand-new hatchback in April of this year. It has been reported that the production for the new Swift has already commenced, and the company is targeting sales of 20,000 units. The 2024 Swift will come powered by a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine, known as the Z12 engine. It will also get mild hybrid technology and offer a mileage of around 30-35 kmpl.
All-new Dzire
Following the launch of the new Swift, the company, a few months down the line, will be launching the all-new Dzire. Like the Swift, it will also be getting a completely revamped exterior and interior. It could also become the first sub-compact sedan in the country to offer an electric sunroof. Apart from this, the company will also offer the Dzire with the same mild hybrid 1.2-litre Z-Series 3-cylinder petrol engine.
All-electric eVX SUV
The company is also planning to launch its first fully electric SUV, the eVX, in the country. Most likely, Maruti Suzuki will be launching this SUV around December of 2024. This new electric SUV will compete with Hyundai Creta EV and Tata Harrier EV once it is launched in the country. The Maruti Suzuki eVX is expected to offer two battery pack options: a 48 kWh unit for the lower versions and a 60 kWh unit for the higher variants.
Seven-seater Grand Vitara
Internally codenamed as the Y17, Maruti Suzuki is working on the development of the brand-new 7-seater Grand Vitara. Now, although the spy pictures of this SUV have not surfaced, it is believed that it will be a stretched version of the outgoing model.
It will most likely retain the same naturally aspirated and hybrid powertrains as the outgoing Grand Vitara as well, with the only major difference being the addition of a new third row of seats. As for the launch, the company is aiming to launch the Grand Vitara seven-seater by early 2025.
Fronx facelift
One of the biggest launches for the year 2025 from Maruti Suzuki will be the facelifted iteration of its popular crossover SUV, Fronx. According to reports, the new Fronx will get a new exterior design and some interior updates as well. However, the biggest highlight of this model will be the addition of a brand-new strong hybrid system called the Series Hybrid System. This new strong hybrid system will use the new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z-Series petrol engine as a generator, and it will be propelled by an electric motor sitting on the front axle. It will offer around 35 kmpl mileage.
New Micro SUV
Apart from the Fronx hybrid, the company is also planning to launch a brand-new micro SUV in India. This new micro-SUV will be competing with the likes of the Tata Punch and Citroen C3. The only information about this upcoming micro-SUV is that it has been codenamed Y43. As for the launch, it is believed that it will be making its debut around late 2026.
New generation Baleno
In the year 2026, the company will be launching the facelifted iteration of its popular premium hatchback, Baleno, in India. Currently, the Baleno is one of the most popular hatchbacks in the country, and it competes with the likes of the Tata Altroz and Hyundai i20. Most likely, the company will offer this new hatchback with the new series hybrid system and updated exterior and interior.
New compact MPV
Last but not least, Maruti Suzuki India Limited is also reportedly working on the development of a brand-new compact MPV. At the moment, the exact launch date for this affordable MPV has not been revealed by the company. However, most likely, it will be launched after 2026. Once it makes its debut, it will be competing with the likes of the Renault Triber and Nissan’s version of the Triber as well, which is also slated to be launched soon.
