Former UConn star Rudy Gay has signed a one-year deal with the Golden State Warriors, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The deal will allow Gay to compete for a regular season roster spot in training camp. If he makes the team, it’ll mark an 18th season in the NBA for the 37-year-old former Husky.

Gay spent two seasons at UConn, averaging 15.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists as a sophomore in 2005-06, when the Huskies went 30-4 and earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. They then infamously lost to No. 11 seed George Mason in the Elite Eight.
The 6-8 forward was selected with the eighth overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft and has played for five teams in his 17-year career, averaging 15.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2 assists per game. He spent the last two seasons with the Utah Jazz.
