Although Kevin Durant is currently on his 16th signature model, the Phoenix Sun and his Swoosh family have been revisiting the Nike KD 3 over the last seven months.
The retro basketball sneaker has taken on original styles, but also opted for new color schemes and themes. One such “new” makeup is the “Aunt Pearl” ensemble, a heavily-pink arrangement inspired by Durant’s aunt who passed away from breast cancer. The commemorative style debuted on the KD 4, but the retroactive application on the KD 3 looks natural on the “Slim Reaper”’s third signature silhouette. Shades of pink cover every aspect of the low-top basketball sneaker, with direct nods to Breast Cancer Awareness, Aunt Pearl, and Nike’s Kay Yow initiative landing throughout the upper.
