Philadelphia 76ers guard James Harden is reporting to training camp to make the team “uncomfortable,” according to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Harden has requested a trade from the Sixers and wants to get traded to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Harden was fined for skipping media day and he would have been fined more for not showing up to training camp. The 2017-18 MVP averaged 21.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 10.7 assists for the Sixers last season. He led the NBA in assists per game for the second time in his career.

Harden was fined $100,000 by the NBA for calling Daryl Morey “a liar” during his Adidas tour in China. Harden no longer has a relationship with Morey. The 10-time All-Star called the exec a liar since he wasn’t traded quickly after opting into his 2023-24 player option.
The Sixers agreed to search out a trade upon Harden’s request after Harden picked up his $35.6 million player option. However, Philadelphia’s asking price for Harden was steep and no teams were willing or able to meet it.
Harden has requested trades from the Houston Rockets and Brooklyn Nets and he was traded both times. The Beard has career averages of 24.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 7.0 assists with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Rockets, Nets and Sixers.

Harden doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract, so he can’t control his trade request. The Clippers and Sixers have talked about a Harden trade, but no trade is close to being made.
