Kia plans to open reservations for the all-electric 2024 EV9 in the United States on October 16 at 10 a.m. PST / 1 p.m. EST and will offer customers the choice between four different versions at launch.
Those interested in securing an allocation for the EV9 will be able to head over to the Kia website on October 16 to configure their new SUV and make a reservation request with a $750 fully refundable payment placed through a participating Kia dealership. Shoppers can reserve the EV9 in Light Long Range RWD guise, Wind AWD, Land AWD, and flagship GT-Line AWD form. Interestingly, the entry-level EV9 Light will not be available on October 16.
Those who make a reservation request through November 27 will receive a host of gifts after they complete the purchase or lease of their EV9. Gifts will include a Webasto Go Dual Voltage Portable EV Charger, a one-year free of available Digital Features & Services, a complimentary three-year Kia Maintenance Plan, and a credit for 1,000 kWh of free charging with Electrify America.

“The Kia EV9 represents the future of sustainable mobility, and this reservation program will allow interested customers to be among the first in line for one of the most highly anticipated new vehicles to hit the U.S. market in years,” Kia America chief operating officer and executive vice president Steven Center said. “As the Kia EV9 will be Kia’s first all-electric, three-row SUV, we anticipate significant interest, and this reservation program, exclusively available through Kia dealers, is our way of celebrating the early adopters and giving them the opportunity to reserve the EV9.”
The aforementioned Kia EV9 Light comes with a 76.1 kWh battery pack and a 215 hp electric motor at the rear axle. It is good for 223 miles (359 km) of range. Those seeking more range can opt for the Light Long Range that has a 99.8 kWh battery, a 201 hp electric motor, and can go 300 miles (483 km) on a charge.
The mid-range Wind gets the same 99.8 kWh battery but has two motors delivering 379 hp and 516 lb-ft (699 Nm), reducing its range to 270 miles (435 km) or 253 miles (407 km) with the optional 20-inch wheels. The EV9 Land offers the same power and range figures while the more well-equipped GT-Line also shares its powertrain and battery with lesser models but its range drops to 243 miles (391 km).
U.S. pricing for the new Kia EV9 starts at $54,900.
