Joel Embiid, the Philadelphia 76ers’ standout center, recently made a significant commitment by choosing to represent Team USA in the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics.
Nick Nurse, the new head coach of the Sixers, brings a wealth of experience coaching internationally, and he recognizes the value of Embiid’s decision to join Team USA.
“I think it’s awesome,” Nurse said, per Ky Carlin of Sixers Wire. “I’m a big international—I’ve coached a lot of international basketball, and, obviously, he’s going in there in a great competition next year in a great city, but I think that just from my time of being with guys is, it’s usually really good leading into the next season.”
